Darren Ferguson has signed his first summer target Paul Hayes, on a three year deal. Hayes arrives at Deepdale on a free transfer, due to his contract running out at the Lincolnshire club. The ex Scunthorpe striker bagged 13 goals last season and was awarded with the player of the year award.
Paul Hayes admitted that the prospect of working with Darren Ferguson was the main reason he joined the North West club. He also stated that he was reaching his late 20`s and he wanted to accomplish an appearance at Premiership level, before he ended his career. He is an ambitious character but he will need to wait for next season and hope that Preston exceed last year`s dreadful position.
Paul Hayes main attribute at Scunthorpe was his link up play something that Preston has been missing.
