Reports that Dickson Etuhu will join Norwich permanently in the winter transfer window appear to be wide of the mark. Preston’s chairman Derek Shaw has contradicted Nigel Worthington’s claim that ‘there’s an agreement between the two clubs that come January, Dickson will be a Norwich City player’.
Shaw said in an interview with the Lancashire Evening Post: ‘Everything will be discussed in January, that’s all we have to say about the matter.’ Although he then adds!! ‘They are supposed to be emergency loans only and if we aren’t very careful I don’t know what the outcome would be. As far as we are concerned, we have loaned Dickson to Norwich for the next two months. We will see what happens after that.’
He also warns that if clubs aren’t careful, these ’emergency loans’ will be stopped by Fifa.
Either that or Fifa will see sense and scrap the transfer windows altogether!
