Unless there is a late change, the referee in charge of the home game with MK Dons on Saturday is David Coote.

Coote was in charge of one Preston game last season, that was in February when the lads went to Tranmere Rovers. The result was 2-1 to North End and there was three yellow cards shown including one to Scott Laird, Preston’s only card.

This season Coote has taken charge of nine games so far, during those games the Nottingham based official has shown 28 yellow cards and one red. This total includes seven yellows shown in the game between Blackpool and Birmingham last week.

Running the lines for this game will be Christopher Akers and Robert Merchant. And the fourth official duties fall upon Scott Oldham.

Not many good referees about these days, in fact I cant think of one. The game is too fast to keep up with without technology
