Preston drew one-one with Birmingham in the Championship on Tuesday with (unusually) one-goal not proving enough, as a lead couldn’t be seen out with another cleansheet.
Middlesbrough loanee Adam Reach, who was a constant threat to Reading at the weekend, put Preston ahead early on when his cross evaded everyone including Birmingham ‘keeper Tomasz Kuszczak to see PNE ahead.
Birmingham were level at the midway point of the second half when Michael Morrison’s header was cleared on the line by Sheffield Wednesday loanee Marnick Vermijl but not before it had crossed it.
