Preston secured a first Lancashire derby away win over rivals Burnley since 2007 when they stunned the Clarets in the Championship, winning two-nil on Saturday.

PNE boss Simon Grayson shares his views on this win and the three-points it brought in a league that ‘is relentless’ so as much as he’ll enjoy this win, and feels it gives his side ‘a platform.’

Yet he knows fully well you can’t ‘think you have achieved anything by a couple of victories here and there.’

Grayson does know it’s ‘a big win’ for his side though and to win a derby ‘adds extra significance’ with him paying tribute to the defence, and Jordan Pickford who ‘make a really good save’ to keep Preston’s latest cleansheet.

Results hadn’t, in the opinion of the Preston boss, matched the performances but he said he always felt ‘results were just around the corner’ where draws would become wins so all ‘are delighted.’
