Joe Garner has told PNE Player he is looking forward to facing his former club Nottingham Forest, as the Lilywhites face the East Midlands side this Friday night.

Preston forward Joe Garner has told PNE Player that he is looking forward to facing one of his former teams, Nottingham Forest, at The City Ground this Friday night for the FA Cup 4th Round.

Garner signed for Forest in 2008 for a £1.1M fee from Carlisle United, signing a four-year deal.
‘Its a big game, i’m looking forward to going back and seeing a few friends and hoping to get through to the next round,’said Garner.
‘We won’t go down there with any fear, there is more pressure on them to get through, being in the Championship.’

Preston got through to the 3rd round by beating Championship team Ipswich Town last week in a 3rd round replay. It was a thrilling 3-2 win which saw Preston go through, with Garner himself getting on the score sheet, not once, not twice, but three times which included a two minute brace.
This will put added pressure onto Forest, not just because Preston can prove that they can beat Championship opposition, but the exciting form Joe Garner is in.

Garner seems to of found his level, as things didn’t quite work out for him at Forest, he netted thirteen times in forty-eight games, while having successful loan spells with lower ranked clubs, towards the end of his Forest career.

Garner isn’t the only person facing their former club on Friday, current Forest manager Billy Davies will be in the dugout, spurring his team on to try and get through to the next round of the FA Cup by defeating the team he took to the Championship play offs twice in a two-year spell he had in charge at Deepdale.

So, with the FA Cup form of Joe Garner will he grab a goal and possibly win it for Preston North End against his former team?
