Preston’s Championship season continued with a draw at Craven Cottage against Fulham on Saturday.

A Garner goal put PNE ahead but they couldn’t see out another game with cleansheet as McCormack struck late on to earn Fulham a point in this one-one draw.

Quickly out of the track Preston went close to going ahead with Cardiff loanee Doyle denied by another player out on loan from Cardiff to Fulham when ‘keeper Lewis saved to deny the striker.

In defeat against Blackburn last time round, against his former side, Garner was on target and it was Garner (11) again who scored once more when a Gallagher cross, from a short corner move, was headed home by the striker who, it seems, might have now rediscovered his goalscoring touch.

Garner almost added a second as Preston dominated the opening half but couldn’t add a second goal with Dembele going closest for Fulham but Pickford made a good save.

Fulham pushed more in the second half with the threat seeing McCormack going close from 30-yards before Preston were pegged back by McCormack’s (77) freekick with 13-minutes remaining.

The game could have gone either way in the end with Welsh having Preston’s best chance but his effort went over as PNE remain four-points behind Fulham.
