On Monday night there was a top of the table clash between Preston and Southampton:

Preston 3 – 1 Southampton

Preston ran out winners and knocked Southampton and off the play offs, pushing themselves up to 5th.

Six teams participated on Tuesday, here are the results.

Hull City 2 – 5 Ipswich
Norwich 1 – 2 Derby
Sheff Wed 1 – 1 Plymouth

Ipswich pummelled Hull away from home, with new striker Francis Jeffers scoring. Derby moved back to the top of the table with an away win at Norwich. There was a mid table draw in the other game

Birmingham 1 – 0 Derby

On Friday, Birmingham moved back to the top after beating Derby, who had been top previously for 3 days.

Barnsley 0 – 2 Sunderland
C Palace 2 – 0 Leicester
Cardiff 1 – 0 Norwich
Colchester 0 – 0 Coventry
Hull City 2 – 0 Preston
Ipswich 0 – 2 Southend
Leeds 1 – 0 Luton
QPR 1 – 1 Sheff Wed
Stoke 2 – 1 Southampton

Sunderland continued their superb run with another victory, this time in front of 8`000 away fans they took to Barnsley. Palace beat Leicester in a mid table clash. Norwich lost their second game in five days, both to top of the table opposition. Colchester drew a blank at home which was surprising, as Coventry held them at Layer Road. Relegation candidates Hull recorded the surprise of the day with a shock 2-0 win over Preston. Leeds and Southend both won vital games which helped their survival cause. QPR entered the relegation zone after drawing at home. Stoke beat Southampton which saw them move towards the play offs, just behind Southampton.

On Sunday, Wolves beat West Brom 1-0 at home:
