Barnsley secured 3 useful points with victory over relegation rivals Hull. In the top of the table clash, Birmingham and Sunderland both gained a point as Birmingham slide down the table and Sunderland rise up it. Milan Mandaric saw his new club secure another victory this time at Burnley who are entering a relegation fight after 14 games without a win. Iain Dowie saw his new team beat promotion hopefuls Southampton to get his regime under a flying start. Wolves won again as they creep up the table almost unnoticed. Leeds and QPR drew 0-0 in a relegation scrap. Luton beat Sheff Wed 3-2 in a high scoring game. Plymouth beat Colchester resoundingly in a mid table clash. PNE beat Norwich at home after their FA cup disappointment. Palace and West Brom both won to move up the table.

There was one game on Wednesday night, here is the result:

Derby 0 – 2 Stoke

Derby slipped to allow the chasing pack to gain ground on them.

On Friday there was one game, where Cardiff managed to continue their winning run with a comfortable win over promotion rivals PNE.

Hull City 2 – 0 Birmingham
Leicester 1 – 1 West Brom

QPR 1 – 1 Plymouth
Sheff Wed 3 – 2 Southend
Southampton 1 – 0 Ipswich
Sunderland 2 – 1 Derby
Wolves 1 – 0 Leeds

Palace won the mid table clash over Luton at Selhurst Park. Colchester held Burnley to continue Burnley`s bad run and prolong Colchester`s good home form. Hull recorded a surprise win over Birmingham who are in a dreadful run of form at the moment. Leicester, West Brom, Norwich, Coventry, QPR and PLymoth all drew 1-1 whilst Sheff Wed won 3-2 over Southend with a late winner. Promotion hopefuls Wolves and Southampton both won 1-0 at home whilst Derby slipped up again and they fell to 2nd in the table due to goal difference.
