Four teams participated in midweek fixtures, here are Tuesday`s results.

Burnley 3-0 Norwich
Leicester 1-2 Birmingham

Burnley continued their good form with another resounding victory which saw them all but secure Championship football for next term. Nigel Worthington`s second game as Leicester boss saw another defeat this time to automatic hopefuls Birmingham.

Derby 1-0 Luton

There was only one game on Friday, this saw Derby propel themselves up into 2nd place at the same time relegating Luton to League 1. Nytanga scored the winner for Derby.

Colchester 3 – 1 Sunderland
Plymouth 2 – 1 Southend
Preston 0 – 1 Leicester
QPR 1 – 0 Cardiff
Sheff Wed 2 – 1 Coventry
Southampton 1 – 0 Leeds
Stoke 1 – 1 Hull City

Barnsley continued to pull away from the pack at the bottom with victory over Palace thanks to two goals from in form Daniel Nardiello. Colchester recorded the shock of the day over table toppers Sunderland, who lost their first game in 26 but remained top due to Birmingham playing on Sunday. Plymouth beat Southend, which sees Southend 4 points from safety with only 6 points available. Leicester secured their safety with a shock win over Preston and Cardiff`s play offs dreams died with defeat away at QPR, which guarantees Championship football for QPR next year. Sheffield Wednesday are still in the play off hunt with victory over Coventry moving them into 10th, two points off the play offs. Southampton scored a late winner to dent their safety hopes whilst Hull claimed a valuable point with a last minute equaliser over play off hopefuls Stoke.

Norwich 1-1 Ipswich
Wolves 2-3 Birmingham

On Sunday, Birmingham beat Wolves 2-3 away. Wolves also missed a last minute penalty. Birmingham moved top after this win and Wolves remained in the play offs. Also Ipswich earnt a point in the East Anglia derby with an equaliser after Norwich took an early lead.
