The trip to Hillsborough was set to be a special day for North End fans as it was the annual ‘gentry day’ were the fans get the bowler hats and pin-striped suits out for a day to remember fellow fans who have passed away. Unfortunately North End could not get a win as the terrible form continues.
It seemed the game plan was to head to Hillsborough and to try and stop Wednesday playing and hopefully crawl out with a point at the end of it but the home side was simply to good and passed PNE off the field. Once Wednesday went ahead the onslaught began with wave after wave of attacks, PNE lucky to only be two goals behind come the final whistle.
All in all a disappointing game for North End.
