Preston’s Championship season continued with a win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

An important two-nil win, Lancashire derby or not, came PNE’s way at the weekend.

Following a goalless first half Will Keane (63), as he came up against his twin brother Michael, put Preston ahead just past the hour.

Another cleansheet, with so many of them kept this season as it is, was secured but with Daniel Johnson (86) adding a second, from Joe Garner’s pass, this ensure PNE had the points!

Sam Vokes would have given Burnley a first half lead but for a point-blank save from Sunderland loanee ‘keeper Jordan Pickford when he turned his effort onto the bar.

Preston have the bragging rights from this Lancashire derby, which is the first time since 2007 away from home PNE have managed this!

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 5th December 2015
Birmingham 0-2 Huddersfield
Bolton 2-3 Cardiff
Brentford 2-0 MK Dons
Brighton 3-2 Charlton
Bristol City 0-2 Blackburn
Burnley 0-2 Preston
Leeds 2-1 Hull
Nottm Forest 3-0 Fulham
Rotherham 1-2 Wolves

Sunday 6th December 2015
Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Huddersfield and Brighton.

A first win for Huddersfield under new boss David Wagner was secured at St Andrew’s when Town beat Birmingham, who dropped out of the top six, two-nil to themselves move out of the Championship relegation zone.

The Brighton win, which sees them retain the lead in the Championship, over Charlton wasn’t a surprise but with the Seagulls two-nil down in the second half on that note it was! This fightback saw them score twice in the final five-minutes to complete the comeback to win three-two at the Amex Stadium.
