Preston’s Championship season continued with a one-nil against Reading at Deepdale on Saturday to make it back-to-back victories in the league.

A goalless first half had seen Middlesbrough loanee Adam Reach denied by the crossbar but early in the second half when Joe Garner was fouled by veteran Paul McShane this gave Preston a penalty.

Garner got up to take this himself and scored, in doing so he also maintained his recent goalscoring run.

As well as hitting the bar Reach also had a couple of efforts save by Reading ‘keeper Jonathan Bond with Nick Blackman missing a chance to equalise for the Royals when clean through.

Reading saw Matej Vydra denied a late equaliser when Sunderland loanee Jordan Pickford ensured himself of another cleansheet, and Preston the points, with a save.

The other results were.

Friday 11th December 2015
Blackburn 1-0 Rotherham
Wolves 1-1 Nottm Forest

Saturday 12th December 2015
MK Dons 0-1 Ipswich
Cardiff 2-2 Sheff Wed
Charlton 0-0 Leeds
Derby 2-2 Brighton
Fulham 2-2 Brentford
Huddersfield 1-2 Bristol City
Hull 1-0- Bolton
Middlesbrough 0-0 Birmingham
Preston 1-0 Reading
QPR 0-0 Burnley

Looking at these results the stand out ones (as such) have to be the wins for Ipswich and Bristol City (obviously Preston too) for me?

Ipswich winning one-nil at MK Dons saw the Tractor Boys into the play-off places and as much as that win wasn’t a surprise in many way they did win it was another good win that sets them up nicely and saw Mick McCarthy celebrate his MotM win with a victory!

For only a second time away from Ashton Gate three-points were collected by Bristol City in a relegation battle with Huddersfield that the Robins came out two-one winners in.
