PNE vital catch up with all the Championship action over the last week.

On Saturday there were two live games, with the bottom two both on the television in different games.

Here are the results:

C Palace 0 – 1 Charlton
Colchester 2 – 3 Burnley
Coventry 2 – 1 Preston
Norwich 1 – 2 Cardiff
Plymouth 0 – 0 Leicester
QPR 0 – 3 Southampton
Scunthorpe 3 – 2 Sheff Utd
Sheff Wed 0 – 1 Bristol C
Stoke 0 – 0 Wolves
Watford 2 – 0 Ipswich
West Brom 2 – 0 Barnsley

Charlton kick started their season with an away win at London rivals Crystal Palace. Burnley got an excellent three points at Layer road, with new signing Graham Alexander playing. Preston missed Alexander, losing at Coventry in sky`s evening fixture. Cardiff won at Norwich on Fowler`s debut whilst Plymouth held Leicester in the first match post Martin Allen for Leicester. QPR couldn`t commemorate the death of bright starlet Ray Jones, suffering an excusable heavy loss at home to Southampton. Scunthorpe continued their excellent start to the season, winning against last season`s top scorer Billy Sharp`s new club. Bristol City also kept up their good form, beating Sheffield Wednesday on the sky cameras. Stoke and Wolves could only conjure up a 0-0 draw at the Brittania. Watford and West Brom both secured 2-0 victories at home.

On Monday there was another Championship game:

Blackpool 2 – 1 Hull

Caleb Folan ran the game until he was knocked unconscious and stretchered off injured, cumulating in 11 minutes of stoppage time, which allowed Blackpool to get a late winner, a Ben Burgess header, which he celebrated in Cantona fashion.

The transfer window closed on Friday but Hull have still managed to lure in Jay-Jay Okocha on Tuesday. There are no fixtures this weekedn due to the forthcoming internationals.
